A product of the Residential Boarding School system, Ms. Golden graduated from Sequoyah High School in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. A veteran of the United States Air Force and Oklahoma Air National Guard, she has a Bachelors in Business Administration and a Masters in Business Administration both conferred from the University of Oklahoma. She earned her Juris Doctor at Oklahoma City University School of Law in 2013.
Brenda's professional work experience includes over 15 years in Human Resources and Executive Management and 10 years with the State of Oklahoma. She has dedicated the last 20 years to working with tribal governments and native organizations. She has consulted and provided training to numerous organizations on leadership and legal compliance.
Brenda has fought for over 35 years for Human Rights and Civil Rights, Equality and Social Justice. Brenda is an outspoken activist, advocate and seeker of justice for the people. She has been instrumental in getting legislation passed in Oklahoma to address the Missing and Murdered Indigenous People. She has presented oral testimony before the U.S. Congress, the U.S. State Department and written testimony to the U.N. Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues regarding Native American treaty rights and inherent retained rights. Ms. Golden has met with several Governors of the State of Oklahoma, Oklahoma Attorney General Representatives and countless members of the Legislature to lobby for human and civil rights for American Indians, women in prison and criminal justice reform.
Brenda has previously worked to increase public awareness on such issues as saving sacred sites, racism by police and in the justice system, female incarceration in Oklahoma and abolishing celebration of 89er days and the land-run re-enactments in public schools. She is currently participating in a project in partnership with the City of Oklahoma City to tell the history of the Land Runs from the indigenous perspective at the Centennial Park located in Bricktown in Oklahoma City.
She has been a source of information in independent media as hostess of Womyns Warrior Talk and Red Town Radio from 2009 to 2016 and writing as the Oklahoma City Native American Examiner from 2008 to 2013. She is co-founder of the Society to Preserve Indigenous Rights and Indigenous Treaties and initiated Indigenous People's Day in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
Legal Assistant, Michael Deo, holds a Certificate of Legal Studies from Tulsa Community College. Founder of Native Amer-I-Can, Mike is a fierce supporter of his Yuchi culture and language, starting such activities as "Little Wars on the Rez" and the "Children of the Sun Festival". He offers authentic patchwork products, training and workshops outside of the office. A friendly compassionate listener, Michael is willing to go the extra mile to help clients and callers in any way he possibly can.
